so far from where i want to be. This is as personal as I have let my work be. I needed to exorcise some emotional demons, and while I'd been able to channel some of it into short fiction, the rest of it was still a horrible mess of memories and regrets that I (or my friends) could no longer deal with any sort of clarity.

The four pieces here are each stanzas to a poem, bits of dreams and reality and self-actualizing metaphors gathered in a final moment of closure. People say it's beautiful, hilarious, and definitely engaging. The title is taken from an image from explodingdog (on the right).

Each drawing is roughly 23" x 18" and the paper is an off-white Canson heavyweight drawing stock. I used graphite, fountain pen, soft compressed charcoal, glitter glue, and crayons as materials. For the exhibition, the drawings were mounted on 1/4" foamboard.

So now that it's been dispersed in public and out of my head, maybe things won't look so tragic anymore. Or maybe the sky will be simply cleared of dust until the next rain falls.
